Corrosion Resistance of Monel 400 Plate

 

The corrosion resistance of Monel is generally better than nickel-copper. It is more resistant to reducing medium corrosion than pure nickel, more resistant to oxidizing medium corrosion than pure copper, and has good corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and carbon. Especially the corrosion resistance of hydrochloric acid also has good corrosion resistance to hot concentrated alkali. Monel fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives have excellent corrosion resistance.

At the same time, it is more corrosion-resistant than copper-based alloys in seawater. Monel400 is a deformed nickel-copper-nickel-based alloy with good seawater corrosion and chemical corrosion performance, and strong chloride stress corrosion cracking performance. This alloy is one of the few alloys in fluoride. Hydrofluoric acid and fluorine media have good resistance to oxidative stress cracking corrosion, such as seawater and salt water environments. In alkaline and salt solutions, Monel 400 also has good corrosion resistance. This alloy is used for weak acids such as sulfur and hydrogen fluoride.
